A new edition of Milan Fashion Week begins

Madrid – After the celebrations of the New York and London fashion weeks, from today, February 23, until next March 1, a new edition of Milan Fashion Week will take place. Contest organized by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring and supporting the fashion industry of the transalpine country, destined on this occasion to serve especially as a framework for the presentation of women’s fashion collections for the Autumn / Winter season of 2021/2022.

Once again, and as a direct consequence of the restrictions and security measures imposed in the country in its attempt to stop the incidence of the coronavirus, the Milan Fashion Week celebrations will find their main means of dissemination in the online medium. Being able to follow the different events and presentations through the different social media platforms of the participating firms, as well as the one created expressly by the CNMI. Portal from which we will have access to both useful and practical information, such as the calendar of presentations, as well as to different areas from which the organization will give us access to a large amount of extra content.

An interactive platform with a multitude of additional content
In this same sense, we will find the platform organized around a total of 5 main areas. From the first one, “Brands”, we will be able to access all the videos and photos of the catwalks and presentations of the participating firms in this edition of Milan Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2021/2021. Meanwhile in the second, developed under the heading of “Emerging Designers Hub”, we will be able to discover the collections of different emerging designers gathered around the subsections of sustainable creations, “Designers for the Planet”; inclusion, “Black Lives Matter”; and a sample of Hungarian creativity, in “Budapest Select”.

At the time of completing the offer of the digital platform, the “Italian Education Hub” is in charge, where we will find a selection of the collections of 20 young designers chosen by the Florentine school of design Polimoda. Responsible for bringing them together around a single fashion film, as a business card, which will be released tomorrow, February 24 from 6:00 p.m., online under the name “Human Poetics by Polimoda”.

Curated by Sara Sozzani Maino, deputy editor-in-chief of the Italian edition of Vogue magazine, we will not find “Crafting Wonder” for her part. Section in which a total of 5 masters of Italian crafts will be made known, through a series of interviews. The “Showrooms” area is already in charge of completing the digital offer of this interactive platform, where a total of 57 participants dedicated to both mono and multi-brand sales, such as Diesel, Dsquared, 247 or Alberta Ferretti, will be in charge of making available to international buyers more than 200 collections in the categories of women, men and accessories for the next Autumn / Winter season 2021/2022.

From the “Black Lives Matter” catwalk to the Valentino “live” show
Returning to the field of presentations and parades, due to those same restrictions imposed with the aim of controlling any incidence of coronavirus, these will be carried out in different formats and modalities. As a consequence, being able to find parades in a combination of both digital and live formats. The same mix that will be given on the occasion of some presentations, which in turn will be completed with live physical experiences, such as those of Amato Daniele, Santoni, Michele Chiocciolini or Marcobologna, however restricted to a reduced number of attendees and only available through appointment.

The celebrations of this Milan Fashion Week start like this today with the digital presentations of the Gonçalo Peixoto, Blazé Milano, Alabama Muse and Bacon firms. Having to wait until tomorrow, Wednesday 24, for the start of 6 days of parades that will be in charge of inaugurating at the same time the presentation of the video-tribute to Beppe Modenese (10: 00h), honorary president of the CNMI passed away on November 21, 2020, the Italian catwalk “Black Lives Matter” (10:15 am) and the Missoni digital parade (11:00 am).

After this series of inaugural celebrations, throughout the days there will be appointments as important as the parades of, on the same Wednesday, Alberta Ferretti (1:00 p.m.), Fendi (2:00 p.m.), Nº21 (3:00 p.m.) and Brunello Cucinelli (4:00 p.m.), in charge of closing the day with the presentation of Polimoda “Human Poetics” (6:00 p.m.).

Already on Thursday, February 25, we will be able to attend the parades of firms such as Max Mara (10: 00h), Blumarine (11: 00h), Prada (14: 00h), Moschino (15: 00h), Emporio Armani (16 : 00h) or GCDS (20: 00h), responsible for closing the day. While on Friday, February 26, it will be time for firms such as Marni, who will do it around breakfast (9:30 am), lunch (1:30 pm) and dinner (6:30 pm), Etro (2:00 pm ) or Tod’s (3:00 p.m.).

During the weekend, on Saturday it will be time to discover collections such as Alessandro Dell Acqua for Elena Miro (11:30 a.m.), Giorgio Armani (12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.), Salvatore Ferragamo (2:00 p.m.) or Laura Biagiotti (6:00 p.m.). On Sunday, attend those of MM6 Maison Margiela (10:30 a.m.), Dsquared2 (11:00 a.m.), Fila (1:00 p.m.), Emilio Pucci (3:00 p.m.) or Philipp Plein (7:00 p.m.).

Coming to the day of Monday, March 1, the last day of the Milan Fashion Week celebrations, the Ports 1961 (10: 00h), Msgm (12: 00h), from the Valentino house (2:00 p.m.), which will do so with a live parade broadcast live online from the historic Piccolo Teatro in Milan, to finally close with the Dolce & Gabbana digital parade (4:00 p.m.).
